Photoshop Element is a variant of photoshop which and it is an application developed by Adobe to make your picture editing and creation to be easy and seamless.

When it comes to picture editing, there are lots of applications you can use however, if it has to do with professional editing, then am sure you must consider using photoshop.

Photoshop have all the tools scattered in the application however, in photoshop elements, before you enter the application, you will need to choose if you want to Create, Edit or organize.

From the Create, Edit or organize option given to you, you decide to choose Create if you want to create a picture from scratch, you can choose Edit if you want to modify the picture you've already taken or you can choose organize if you just want to organize your edited or created pictures in one place.

As discussed earlier, I will be using Photoshop Elements to practically show how you can professionally remove picture background however, you can decide to use just Photoshop it will still achieve the same results.

Step-By-Step On How To Remove Picture Background

To professionally remove background from a picture or change the background of that picture, there are steps to take to neatly achieve what you have in mind. If learn the laid down steps, then you can change or remove the background of a picture in a matter of minutes.

So, when you enter the Photoshop elements, you will need to select Edit. You will need to select Edit because you already have the picture however, you want to do a modification or an enhancement on the picture. If you are a pro, you can still select Create option and then find you way within the application however, as a learner, there is need you select the Edit option in the application.

Now that you have selected the Edit option, you will see some edit tools at the left pane of the application. The major tools you will need to familiarize yourself with within the application will be the quick selection tool and the lasso tool.

The above tools are the main needed tools to safely remove the background from any picture however is not the only important tool in photoshop. I can say that the selection and lasso tool are the most important to me probably because i do more of background removal in photoshop elements software. To successfully and professionally remove the background of a picture on photoshop elements application, please follow the below steps

Steps;

1) Open Photoshop application if it's not already open, click on the file as in the picture below, click on open and then select the picture you want to edit.

2) Once the picture you want to remove the background is imported, the photoshop will look like the below picture

3) If there is a need to rotate the picture like the picture above, you will need to select the edit from the option and then select rotate. After rotating the picture, you can then start the background removal.

For pictures that have even color, the quick selection tool will do the whole background removal for you but the image will still be locked as seen in the picture below

4) To unlock, all you need is to double-click on the key and then click on the ok button. From the picture below, the picture is now unlocked, hence you can now modify and remove the picture background

5) For even pictures like the one in this tutorial, you can use only quick selection tool to remove the background. Just select the area you need to be removed from the image and press the backspace. You will need to do same for all the parts of the picture that have even color.

6) For all the part that have uneven color, you will need a lasso tool. All you will do need do will be to select the starting point, select the points you want to remove, go back to the starting point, and then hit the backspace button.
